Pakistan plays an important role in the construction of Belt and Road in South Asia. After five years of development, the impact of Belt and Road on Pakistan has dramatically increased and the role of Pakistan has become clearer. Thus it is important to look back at China’s investments in Pakistan under Belt and Road during these five years, in order to draw lessons from the past and summarize experience and advice for the future development. This paper will give an overall introduction about China’s investments under Belt and Road in Pakistan, and analyzes the effects of the investments in Pakistan from two aspects: what is in there for Pakistan, and what problems and obstacles have China’s investments brought to Pakistan.
